Qigong is a system of Chinese medicine that has helped transform people’s health and well-being for over 2500 years. It is based on the belief we are the microcosm of the macrocosm. Qi means “life force” and gong means “to cultivate”. Within the practice, we are cultivating life force to bring ourselves into harmony with the Tao, the nature of all, which is compromised of the Five Elements… Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.
In this workshop, we will learn practices to harness the qualities of each of the Five Elements and how they correlate to our life and being. Each element connects to a season, direction, color, emotion, organ and meridian system. We will explore the Taoist clock, gaining a deeper understanding of how we can bring ourselves into harmony through the choices we make each day. All of this will assist us in our search for balance between yin and yang… the non-hierarchical idea reflecting how the world exists in a harmonious balance of opposites. Yin… receptive, dark, female, and Yang… active, light, male.
I hope you will join us on this journey into cultivating harmony through the Five Elements.
The workshop is taught in English.
